ok, the plx i have has the white and grey extra wires... i know one of those can be use to wire into the stock 02 wire (for dataloging) by doing this... does the plx act as a narrow band... and can closed loop be used once tunning is finished? thanks guys!

the white wire if you connect it to the stock o2 wire, you should be able to datalog..

and its a true "WIDEBAND" not narrowband...

thanks for verifying the color... and i knew it would be used to datalog, now, if i wanted to run open loop how would that be done? would i have to splice of the wires from the 02 sensor and the white wideband wire and then use my second 02 bung? the reason i want to run closed loop is because i live in Maine and the climate changes daily... it can be really cold one day and hot the next....

PLX comes with Narrowband and Wideband outputs.

sweet.. thats kinda what i thought... so is there a way to wire throught the wide band to the ecu so i can use closed loop and not have to use a stock narrow band 02?

 

you dont need to use your 2nd o2 bung, you need to plug it up..

connect the stock "wiring", to the white wire on the plx. and then you should be fine..

edit... your going to have to ecu the ecu wire, if you want to continue to run a o2..

 

Here is an easy explanation. . . .

If you just want to run it for metering and keep the stock one in too, then put the PLX as a secondary and only needs power and ground basically. Nothing else.
If you really want the Narrowband AND Wideband option and want to use that as the only sensor.
Then run a switch to go back and forth between narrow and wide.

I ran mine in Wide all the time as the primary sensor. No issues. I think I ran my ECU in open loop all the time

i understood the first stuff... but i dont get the ecu the ecu stuff... what did you mean by that?

but if i just use it for metering then i wouldnt be able to datalog with it right? how would i rig up a switch for it? thanks for being patient wth me! and just for future reference, what is the grey wire for?

 

You can datalog with it either way I believe. But I ran mine only in wideband mode when datalogging.
Just run a switch and run each wire to a pin on the switch .
One for white and one for grey.

One is wideband , the other is narrowband. I forget which is wich becuase I use neither on my set up

 

ohhh... so the white wire is wideband and the grey is narrow? so i could run a switch somewhere in the car what where the stock ecu wire and the grey and white wire meet and just switch when i need to?

 

Yep.
As long as the switch it wired correctly, it should work to swap the signals when needed.
