Just bought a prelude....my first import
well I drove 6 hours to Long Beach to pick up a 94 vtec prelude.....its black...lthr....all the options...clean title...112k miles...has some minor nicks and scrathes...has an intake, dc sports header, & greddy exhaust......but all in all it was worth it...I bought it for $6500...this car is faster then my 95 gt mustang...and to top it all off I got 27 mpg driving 80+mph
Welcome to the Prelude family dude. You bought the best Lude for the buck (4th gen VTEC), congrats. You won't regret it either, I can tell you. Sounds like the next thing you need is a rebuild on the engine though, and then you're good to go for further plans
Welcome to the Prelude family. The 4th generation Prelude VTEC that you bought is generally considered to be the fastest of the Preludes.
Just curious, why did you get rid of the 95 GT? Stock for stock, I'd take the Prelude over the Mustang... But for an all-motor build-up, I think the Mustang would be a better platform to begin with... Was your car the 5.0l or the modular 4.6l?

95 mustang GT's are the last year to come with 302's(5.0L).
of course we'd all take the prelude....this is a honda site and the prelude beats mustangs off the market......not by much but still does and thing is....it's not even half the Liters and half the Cyl's

damn you bought the twin to my car. (with way less miles). welcome to the family. you got a great price, i paid 9000 for mine with 132k and no bolt-ons. but then again that was 2years ago. thanks for getting away from the "i have a mustang so im faster than any 4 cylinder" family. i hate those people. how can they be so brain washed and not even know it. anyway i hope the car works out for you. i know it wil i have 199,877 miles on my car with no breakdowns or major repairs.
I sold the mustang because it sucked too much gas & had an automatic transmission......i got pics on my website.....it was a fun car but i was getting sick of it...the prelude reminds me a little of my mustang because of the leather lthr and how fast the car is.....and it was a 5.0......I still like both cars though....I imagine I will get another mustang in the future...when I get my own house
this car is a blast to drive.....just the rush..too bad the stock wheels and tires dont like to stick to the road....where I work there is the kid who owns a bullet mustang all stock....2001 4.6 ltr....car & driver did the 1/4 at 14.1 now grant it thats with a professional driver.....my goal is to whip his ***...
.....you think I have a chance?

But in all honesty, a Mustang would be a much better platform to begin with if you want a drag racer... The Mustang just has more potential if you like accelerating in a straight line.
