Default Car wont start right after new build.. help needed!

I just finished putting my motor back together. The only thing i changed from the previous build was .5mm bigger pistons. Its an LS/VTEC setup. Well i got everything back in it, ensure that all the plugs on the harness were plugged up to the correct sensors. I attempted to start it but it only sounded like a starter cranking.. no spark. I gave it a little gas and it ran, but rough. Kinda like running bigger injectors without the basemap to support it. BUT, it did run KINDA smooth at 2-3k rpms. I already have a fully tuned map for my previous setup. Mase tuned it and it ran perfect, nothing really changed in the motor that would cause this.

**As soon as I let off the gas the car cuts off immediately**

There are NO CEL's. I ensured all sensors were connected, Fuel Pressure is good, oil pressure good, and firing order is good.

The last thing i have to do is pull each plug out and test for spark. Im clueless and need some help guys. thanks.

Do a compresion test... it sounds like its loosing compresion...bent valves possibly from the build or the cam timing is off and your loosing the compresion from that...check the cam timing

maybe you need a valve adjustment.

After I got a head back from a machine shop once, I forgot to do a valve adjustment. This was on a fresh build. I went to crank it up and it would just keep cranking over and over.

after I did a valve adj. it was all good, fired right up.

someone please refresh me. When you do a valve adjustment... the big part of the lobe is up or down?

Don't just look at the cam lobes to adjust the valves... Seriously...

i wont. BUT.. i just found out that the company never touched my valve adjustment. damn it! Im going to re do the timing again tonight. It gotta be just that. the actual build of the motor is perfect. It would have to be either timing or some spark issue. Ill let you know guys once i get the chance to work on the car.

white mark on the crank pulley is lined up with the notch on the cover, and both cam gears look like this (- -)(- -) so i have no idea now. Well actually... when the cam gears are perfectly lined up the white line on the crank pulley if off about 1/4" but i dont think thats enough to be off.

It was the valve adjustment. ONce we got the timing belt on which was a pain in the ***, and the valve adjustment, started up like a champ. Smooth idle.

yeah Greg ive tried to call you a **** load but no answer. yeah Built in the back of my truck, installed in the yard on plywood.. haha., but hey its good good dude! It feels strong as ****. no smoke what so ever. Should I do another valve adjustment with the engine cold? When it was done, it was slightly warm from a short idle.
