i dont know i just started up my car today and i got this ticking sound when the car was in neutral. it sounded like it was coming from my tranny (manual). pushed the clutch in and backed it into my drive way and parked it. and i think the sound went away.... weird? anyone? lol.

ya what he said. when mine went out it made a constant clicking noise until i held the clutch in then it went away. i just went ahead and bought a new tranny, i dont know **** about fixin trannys.

You could've bought a bearing for less than a couple cases of beer and installed it in a few hours, but instead you chose to buy a new transmission? Did you search before you made that decision?

 

i've just encountered this problem today... check the bearing, otherwise the spring is just out of place

 

haha well i drive a cx with 170k on it anyway. i have about 1k for some sorta crazy proj on it. how long u think the car will last till i can swap motor out. i was thinkin' a cheaper motor like b18b or dizzy sohc vtec wen the time comes. anyone know how much that would cost to do in a shop. thanks yall.

 

$35 in parts.........$50-65 to install is what I charge, just you have to bring me the tranny..........
