exhaust leak at the manifold, strip at the threads in the head.. help
o.k so when my vtec pops it pops louder than usual, so I check engine and see slight oil coming from the exhaust manifold area, then notice one of the bolts on the thread was missing, I just got the head put on a month ago but barely notice the problem now that I started to rev on it...anyway I put a bold on and start to tighten and notice that it only spinning...I attemp to take it back out ant the bolt and thread come out....oh ****....so the guy that I bought the head off installed it...I know he knew and I just didin't notice till now..
1) does this pose any problems to driving it around not taking it past 4000? oil consumption is about 1/3 quart for 500 miles while reving alot on it (8000) every now and then.
2) how can it be fixed?
3) should I kick this guys *** if he won't fix it?

You can rethread the stripped hole using a helicoil of some sort. Oil should not be coming out of the exhaust manifold. Rings or headgasket mey be leaking. That is more important than rethreading an exhaust stud.
