Yea my friend has a gsr and for about a week we couldn't figure out why the car boggs out at high rpm. he changed the distributor coil and It was find. It ran perfect. The thing is when his car is hot it begins to bogg again. I was wondering if the external msd coil would be better and will it allow his car to get full power at all times even when his car is hot?

 

What do you mean, "when the car gets hot"? Do you mean, up to normal operating temps? Stock, the car shouldn't have any problems. I would try to determine what the problem is before purchasing an aftermarket part that probably won't do anything.

Are his plugs gapped correctly? What exactly did you change? I'm not familiar with the term distributor coil. I know it's a fairly common term, but did he replace the cap/rotor and ignitor? Those are pretty much the only serviceable parts in there.

 

the coil is right next to the igniter in the distributor. i think it's on top. could his problem be the main relay?

 

usually the main fuel relay problem affects from start up

 

the problem was the coil in my dizzy. After it was installed my car screamed. I heard that the msd external coil would be better. I have new dizzy rotor/new plugs/new spark plugs.
