Possible ECU Problem
Alright guys. I just did a b20 vtec swap in to my 99 ek...an im having some problems with the ecu's. Here the deal i have a jdm p30 with a bad jumper harness so its throw a check engine lite for vtec pressure, so what i did was put in the stock ecu and it ran fine, but its throwing a check engine to for the crank senor or something like that.....So Last time i drove my car around for bout an hour with the stock ecu ran fine, then when i went leave my friend house it started blogging down...it would idle fine but when i went to go take off it had to rev it super high to get the car to move....so i figure it wasnt getting enough fuel....so i pulled over swap out the ecus it ran like **** for a min then i slowed down and launched my car it seem to be fine no blogging no nothing. an then this morning i went to go check it out with the p30 hooked up it was blogging like the single cam ecu did. so i cam home plug up the single cam ecu and it idle fine didnt have any kind of blogging what so ever....Any ideas on what might be causing these problems?
Dude, comeon. SOrry that sounded ignorant, wans't meant to be. Does a b20 come with VTEC? No. What you are trying to do is like trying to run a d16 ECU on a b16. Sure it'll run, but wont run right at all. Get a chipped ECU, itll be work it and you can tune the car and get a fuckload more HP out of it than you surely have now.
Maybe you mis understood what I said...The p30 does the same thing that the single cam ecu does.....What ecu would you run....Im trying to fix the problem...thanks for the help

The P30 will work but you need at least a fuel managment controller, even if you go with piggy back style it should fix the issue when tuned properly. But Hondata or Uberdata/Chrome would be your best bet because a piggy back style like the VAFC doesn't allow for adjustment in the ignition maps.
