Default need some help with omnipowers on 98 EX

To those who have omni's and are sitting pretty low -

Is it OK to lower the front coilovers as far as they will go using the twisting bottom collar? I'm not talking about lowering them via spring preload, but rather the collar way of lowering them at the very bottom twisting part...

I am just wondering, because I didnt want to lower it all the way using this method, because it looks like it will cause the shock to bottom out. So i resulted to lowering it part this way, and part spring load, which it said in the instructions NOT to do....but its worked fine so far...

The reason I'm asking, I want to lower the car MORE in the front, but definently dont want to lower it anymore via the spring, but instead twist the bottom collar ALL THE WAY.

Soooo, omni owners....is it ok to lower the front collar all the way?

i say preload it according to the instruction so u dont bottom out the shocks and then lower it using the lower shock mount and i doubt that you can put it down all the way before the car is sitting on the ground

yeah, i am going to fix the spring preload, and set it to spec... so lowering it as far as it will go using the bottom collar should be fine?

anyone know this for a fact one way or another? just want to make double sure, as i want to set it, and be done with it...

i dunno about urs but mine i cant lower it that low cuz the wheels are gonna tuck way into the fender and my exhaust will scrape the ground i still have about 2"s before i bottom out the collar and its low enough for me

my fronts are all the way down using the bottom collar. The coilovers were designed to do that. That is the whole point for lowering it using the very bottom part - to lower the car and not affect the suspension travel. Some Omnis go low and some dont, from what ive gathered. I had to lower my fronts all the way down for the fender to meet the tire.

But ,yes - lower it using the very bottom collar and keep the spring perches where they should be after preloading. Do not lower the car using the spring perches.

sweet deal. thanks guys.

the reason i lowered it using the spring way was because the back still have so much goddamn more room to lower than the fronts....i thought you had to lower the front using both techniques. glad i asked. thanks.

if someone could post up a pic of their omni's lowered the way i described that would be cool.

96-98 coupes or hatches please...cuz it seems like omni's vary from year to year on how far they lower, etc...
