power loss after car gets hot
im not sure wat the problem is but when the car sits there for atleast 2 or 3 hours turned off, then running it runs really good and smooth for a while, but after its running for more then 30 mins, it gets slow in increasing speed and picks up slow for a GSR. Every morning the car runs awsome but if i keep running it for a long time it gets sluggish. it loses the power to pick up the car well, thats not even running the AC. Ive got all these maitenance done recently at 87K miles, but it was doing this before the maitenance too, now Im at 89K miles and still doing that.
maitenance done at 87K:
Tuneup:
NGK spark plugs (V-Power Plug; BKR6E-11; DOHC; VTEC; @ Gap .052 @)
Distributor rotor (wells)
Distributor cap(wells)
PCV valve(Deutsch)
Fuel filter
Air Filter
Bleeded and renewed Antifreeze
Belts:
Belt (A/C)
Belt (Alternator)
Belt (Power steering)
Timing belt with Water Pump
Transmission Service:
Manual transmission fluid (3 quarts)
Transmission fluid drain plug crushed washer
Transmission fluid fill plug crushed washer
Bleed clutch hydraulic system

I made a thread on this exact problem I was having. Here is the link.

I have yet to change the cap and rotor but the problem has seemed to go away. I don't know why or maybe I just don't pay attention to it. Still going to change my cap and rotor (maybe even whole dizzy) since I know it needs to be done.

im not too sure but isnt that what they call heatsoke or something like that...makes ur car boggy and lose performancce...i believe it happens in basically every car

Thats funny i also had the same problem in my 2000 gsr with 38thou miles. Morning dive to work runs like a champ, afternoon drive how it fells kinda slugish. I am guessing it might have to do with tempature issue are its all in my head not to sure thoe. I did a basic tune up and now it seems to be driving up to par.
Basic tune up:
NGK spark plug wires
NGK Irridum plugs pre gap
Honda fuel filter

Basic tune up:
NGK spark plug wires
NGK Iridium plugs pre gap
Honda fuel filter
Mobil 5w30 fully synthetic/Honda oil filter
Honda tranny oil
Cap and Rotor
Valve adjustment and installed my new Aem cold air intake. Runs A lot better now..Also I was told not to mess with the gap on the iridium plugs cause it could distort something in the plug, not to sure thoe...

Wtf I made the same thread https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1347048 I thought if I got an external msd coil it run better when it's hot is this true.
yeah I read you thread before, I did all the maintenance by reading your thread hoping it would fix my problem but nope. Im not sure what can be causing it even tho Ive changed my cap and rotors. And yes the clutch gets hard to press down too just like how u described it on your thread.
use heat wrap on ur headers, get cooling plate and some heat insulation.
it wont bog as much..because itll cut down the heat in there a lot n wont be too heatsoaked...your problem can be something technical or just the heat..looking at most who posted..ur in pretty hot temperature places.
im in jacksonville FL n both my gsr n my bros prelude loses power in this heat..so do lots of the other cars around.
