Default what do u guys do?

The motor i swapped in last year supposedly only had 20k on it (doubt it), my car is close to 56k currently. Do u guys normally just follow the maintenance routine based on the miles on the car?

what does the 60k include (*dont have a manual) timing belt, water pump, oil pump?

Hopefully when you swapped your motor, you did some routine maintenance. Like change the water pump, timing belt, A/C / Alternator & Power steering belt, PVC valve, spark plugs, plug wires, etc.........You should then be good for 30K miles for a tune up and about 90K miles for a timing belt change. If not, you are going to pay more now because it is harder to change some of those items with the engine mounted in the bay. If you haven't done anything, do it now! otherwise you can incure (sp?) major expenses later on. Be proactive vs. reactive I always say.

i had my mechanic do the swap and told him to change any neccessary items including the wp and timing belt. When i got back the car he said it all checked out fine and did not needed to be changed. btw this was about a year ago.

Isnt timing belt every 60k?

No offense but what an idiot he was (mechanic). he should have just spent the 30-45 min that it would take to change the $30 timing belt and $60 water pump, now it's going to cost you about $500 to have it done, not to mention that you have no clue when it's due because you don't know the actual mileage. I would change the belts and pump within 50k miles of having the engine installed (they claim it has 20k could have had 40k or 30k who knows).....Go by the engine mileage not the chassis mileage afterall your changing parts on the engine not the chassis rite.
timing belt is every 90k. I've seen some last 110k and seen others go at 95k miles all depends on the wear and stress placed on it.
start saving now.......

60k:
Change engine oil and filter, top off all fluids.
Change transmission oil-use Honda MTF for manual trans (as opposed to regular oil)
Replace the spark plugs,distributor cap,rotor.
Replace the fuel filter.
Rotate the tires-check the brakes.
Change the brake fluid.
Replace the air filter.
Adjust the valves and replace V/C gasket and plug seals.
That's your basic 60k.
And if I were you, I would have my timing belt and water pump replaced.
