Which Alternator (both have issues)
I have a choice between 2 alternators for my Ef.
The original one sized up from sitting for about a month. I had to use an impact wrench on the shaft to get it to move. I soaked both ends in Liquid Wrench (~Pb Blaster) and kept spining it with the impact ~ 2000 rpm. It now spins perfectly freely, better than my spare, however it vibrates a little.
My other choice is my spare alternator, came off an EF, its in working condition, however, the pulley is a 3 groove serpentine and my crank pulley is a 2 groove, so the belt wont fit properly and risks geting eaten up (I assume if it moves along the groves of the alt). I tried swapping the pulleys, but the spare has a larger drive shaft and doesnt fit the 2 groove pulleys.
Which one should I take a risk on :D...its my winter car so it needs to be reliable.
