Which CEL's cause LIMP / SAFE Mode ?
is there a chart or list that can explain which CEL codes will cause the car to go into limp mode?
I have code 45, but it doesnt seem to be affecting the performance any.
isnt the ecu supposed to go into safe mode?
if not, when will it go into safe mode?

As far as i know, anytime your car is throwing a check engine light, it will go into safe mode and dump more fuel to compensate for the problem, depending what it is. If your throwing a code due to the knock sensor your timing will automatically retard to avoid any serious problems.

yeah, this dude is correct. I had a bad knock sensor that i just replaced. Gas mileage is now alot better, and my car is faster also. After i installed the knock sensor I took it to acura to get the light deleted. You must go to acura because at my work we have a snap on ecu reader and it wouldent delete it for some reason.

never heard of that. just disconnect the battery and pull your backup fuse. it will erase the code.
