if not happy with answers from people that actually own the car, then do a search like everybody else does.....

The textbook answer is 6000, but it will change based upon a couple conditions.

Vtec cross over point is dependant on a number of conditions.

Two of these are:
1. Engine temperature - must be over 3 bars on temp guage (on 00-03 models)
2. Oil pressure. Although related to temperature, the temp guage usually only relates to coolant temp and not oil temp.

vtec cross also depends on throttle position. i have gotten my car up to 7800 rpm's without vtec kicking in

lol...and whats got me is the fact you guys cant tell when VTEC engages...the S2000 and the NSX have some of the most prominant VTEC engagement's of any honda car available. Its PLAINLY obvious if you're allowing the car to warm up properly, otherwise, it'll just pull the same up to about 7,500rpm, and then fuel cutoff.

And...since your ITR does it the same time everytime, it just goes to show how much cooler your car is, i mean really...Type-R? Our lowly S2000's should only be so lucky.

Might not be quite 7500rpm...its right above 7,000rpm though, for some reason i was thinking it was 7500, but now that i think back, i dont think it quite gets that high, i know it does hit 7k though.

I'm guessing the rev limiter on the S2K would be like 9150+ rpm..

u mean there's 2 vtec cross over ?

if 6K and 7.5K is rev limitter your car cant rev pass 6 or 7.5..

The 6k limiter stops you from getting VTEC-happy on a cold motor.
