1 - How long they last will depend on the spring rate and your driving. Could last 2yrs, 2 months or 2 weeks.
2 - Why waste money on the GCs if you already plan to get tein coilovers in 8 months???

bottom line is, don't use stock shocks with lowering springs or coilover sleeves.

just save up the money for whatever suspension you want to run.

do it right the first time or don't do it at all.

as long as you don't get some high rate springs and the shocks are not bottoming out, your shocks should quite some time.

Call GC tell them you want to keep your stock shocks, and they will recommend rates for you.

Not long enough to not buy new shocks if you're spending the money/time/effort on GC's

i agree.. i bought some GCs hoping to run stock shocks for a while. The ride is ok, a lil bumpy but not too bad.. i plan to buy some either tokico illuminas or kyb agx's for my setup real soon because my car is daily driven and i really want a better ride.

Like they said, when making suspension changes you should do the springs and dampers together. Live with the stock setup until you can afford the complete package.
