Coilovers on stock struts..
I've read that when someone wants to lower their car they usually get new struts and if they keep the stock struts they will wear out faster.. Does the height of the drop matter on the lfie of the struts or the performance of the ride??
If I use stock struts with aftermarket coilovers and I'm just going to lower about a 1.5-2 inches, will the stock struts be fine??
Thanks alot :]

your shocks will be fine for a shorter period... and it really depends on the spring rates you use. I would not suggest doing this for a long term solution to your ride. Shocks have a range they are designed to work in, stroke. and if you get outside that range your not going to be doing the units any good. At the same time, the shocks are designed to work with a specific range of spring rate... again if you get outside that range you are not going to get the performance you want out of that shock...eg the shock will not be able to control the spring

Been running maxspeed springs with stock shocks on my 2003 for a year now with no problems. I just don't know why almost everyone seems to think that stock struts/shocks will blow very shortly after installing springs.

You miss the point... its NOT the aftermarket springs... it the aftermarket spring rates
