what are your mods? because if its not hevily modified, the oem ignition will be just fine. And correct me if i am wrong, but you wont see any gains.

I agree, if your not putting out alot of power I think the stock ignition is plenty. But I do have a msd ignition on my car if you wanna buy it.

1 of the reasons why i need msd is because for some reason or another hondata will not accept any rev limiter, the tuner has tried everything for some reason my car has 0 rev limiter, hondata says its set for 9k, then changed it to 8.4k but either way once its in there is 0 rev limiter....

figured i might as well just get msd digital 6, rev limiter, rev launch control, ect ect....tired of trying **** to fix the problem, msd would fix it

MSD 2satep does work much better then Hondata thats for sure.
Tell him to set the rev limits in the software and not with the clutch switch ****. Those are junk .
I had probs with them too.

you talking about within the hondata?

he spent like an hour playing with it and nothing seemed to work, hed change it, pull the chip install and my car would free rev past 9k

then when he put it back into the computer it showed that the rev limiter was changed to 8400 but the car's rev's wont cut-out

tired of messing with it so i figured id pick up a msd digital 6 and eliminate the problem, its going to be built/boosted over winter anyways, msd might come in handy later down the road.....it would solve my problem for now at least

theres a good chance your tuner doesn't know what he is doing then or something is fucked up.
I never had a problem setting it in the software.
I only had problems when ******* with the clutch switch set up to change on the fly. I would change one thing and it would change all kinds of other limits. So I got pissed and never used it again

I put a Jacob's set-up on mine when it was N/A. I did notice a power gain. Multiple sparks per combustion sequence are better than one...Now it is a nice compliment to a turbo.

hes only been a certified hondata tuner for about a year, tuned my car real good though and is only like 1 of 2 certified hondata tuners in the area

he thinks it might have to do with my hondata being 2.5 and his software being 3.0 possibly......

think im just gonna get the msd and use it's rev limiter setting's

it could be. I used 2.5 and my tuner used the new stuff and it always acted wierd when he was tuning, but once we converted the maps it alwyas worked fine

I had full MSD SCI box & external coil. It's now for sale cause I went back to stock ignition & noticed no difference. They say it works great if your boosting 15 to 20 psi or more. I'll take 200 for the MSD box & coil.
