Default whats the worst thing that u have seen at autox?

i have been wondering about what is the worst thing anyone has seen at an autocross event(i don't want any roadracing accidents)? i'm meaning like have u ever seen anyone been killed,or hit by bad drivers, or people hitting something other than a person? i just don't like that poeple that aren't into autox think that autox is so unsafe.

I saw some guy drive a very cherry '96 Z32 300ZX twin turbo over a curb that was about 20 yards off course. The guy just drove straight towards the curb, I'm assuming scared shitless, after the first corner. He kept it planted the whole way, and the car hopped a good 10 ft over the curb(which was more of a parking "island"). Tore off lots of expensive suspension arms and I think the oil pan. It was gruesome.

Never seen anybody get hurt at an event thankfully.

I've seen plenty of cones murdered.

A few blown engines,

1 broken hub

This local area where we auto x is fenced up with those silver mesh fences.

one dude in a 2.5rs was going into a corner way too hot, *** slid out, counter steered right into the fence where a trailer was sitting.

front was fucked!

I was working a course about a month ago and spit out my gum. I then decided to pick it up and, like a dumbass, turned my back on the line. As I was bending over, a car lost it and started coming towards me. Luckily, someone yelled at me and I got up before it got very close. A good way to increase the heartbeat, although not much real danger. But yeah, autocross is a lot safer than driving on the highway.

With the liability-concious legal climate of today, many auto clubs are having great difficulty in securing and maintaining parking lots to run autoX in these days. Discussing and rehashing autoX mishaps in public forums will only hurt those efforts to accquire lots even more. No good can come of this thread, IMHO.

I agree.

Just understand that when you go to an event (autox, rallyx, HPDE, etc) that you assume a certain level of risk and if you are not willing to accept that, then you shouldnt be there
