Drove Through Water, Engine Running rich..... this sucks
sup,
so i was coming home last night from work as it was raining extremely hard, what other choice do i have, i must get home some how. im currently running a b16a2 in my 2000 civic if that matters. So i go home, by the time i park my SI in my garage i can hear sqeeky belts and everything, thats normal i guess from that rain. but then i pop the hood to make sure everything is alright, and its all nice just wet belts thats all. i hear from my exhaust a wierd noise like its running rich. it sounded just like some friends turbo cars....u would hear a pop every 3 seconds. so im like ok what the hell, i shut off the car. i go back to turn it on just to make sure everything is okay with it. It cranked by would not start, as soon as i let go of the key to stop cranking it would make a weird noise. like it was burping or something. So i unplugged my spark plugs going to the distributor let them dry i guess, plugged them back in. it started, although running EXTREMELY RICH. and not running. so the car starts, soudned and smelling like its running realllll rich. the whole car was vibrating etc...sounded just like a domestic. when it first starts it idles at like 100 and then over a couple 10 seconds it will go up to 1000-1500. i dont know what to do this is my daily and its killing me.
cliff notes- runs rich as hell after driving in water.

It really poured in some parts of DFW, something similar happend to a friend of mine and somehow going through a huge puddle of water killed his O2 sensor, not sure if that's what your problem is, but you might want to check it out

Pull one sparkplug wire off at a time. The cylinder that doesn't make the rpms drop is the dead one.
