Default Ghetto Tuning: Working with a gtech pro

I hear the Gtech Pro can be inaccurate but consistent. Made me wonder if it could be used in place of a dyno. I understand this thing is not even clsoe to a dyno, but its just a thought . Also, doesnt have to be a gtech...could be that one by apexi or blitz too..

Thoughts?

inaccurate but consistent
Yea its pretty consistent, but you must do the runs in succession. Do 5 runs, take the top 3 and average them.

Gtech pro is not accurate, esp. with the horsepower function.
My R got an average of 140whp with Gtech pro (and I highly doubt it)

But the 1/4 mile function is pretty consistant. Although I think it is a bit underestimated, it serves as a good relative figure to compare mod.

In short, I will say Gtech pro is not accurate, but consistant to give a relative figure.

GTech Pro meters are very accurate.. I have even brought mine to the dragstrip and it's never been more than .2 of a second off, and it's always consistent if you use it properly. As far as horsepower readings, it works fine, run, do your mods, run again.. Don't expect the numbers to match up to a Dynojet or Mustang dyno for christ sake..
