B18C1 is laggin (help please)
well when we first installed the motor there was sooo much lag in the lower rpm range, so im thinking no biggie, so i got the 2ndarys hookedup...and only noticed a small change up high.........
so what else could be wrong? timing?so i advanced the timing and was running pretty bad *** indeed, some itr's and wrx's can attest to that
great all is well correct? installed an exhaust (tanabe RM) reset the ecu, and the lag starts reappearing a tad bit....
then my distrbutor>bearing decide it wants to get fawked, i changed the distributor yesterday, (everything is installed correctly, etc) and the lagg is even more apparant, does a screwy distributor affect the timing? what could be wrong...even though the lag isnt as bad as before, its still there....
could it be a fuel problem? would an fpr/fuel pump help out?
thanks in advance.

I got the same problem bro, and i have no idea what it is. I even replaced the entire head with a TypeR head recently.... everything except the distributor that is and it still lags between 4 and 6k. I think it may have something to do with the distributer but I'm not sure. I changed the fuel pump last night to a 2000 CTR one from my 92 VX one and it helped out a little actually. I'm getting my ECU chipped tomorrow so we'll see what happens. My car really picks up after about 5500K so it's gotta be something simple.
drives hard as should above 5500 huh? exactly my problem......
so the fuel pump helped a bit? sounds good
do post the cure after you find it, thanks a million bro

at what rpm is yout vtec actually kicking in? if its too low then it will feel like the car is bogging until the second cam profile gets into a range where it makes more power than the mild profile. I had this problem until I got my p-28 chipped.

Good to hear man!!!
I just got a P28 ECU with Mugen program and I REALLY like it. Get yourself a CTR or ITR intake cam and a chipped ECU and you'll be really happy.

Do ITR cams run well with a stock GSR intake manifold? I have a set right here with some adj. camgears im about to put it, but i dont know if it will suck with the stock manifold.
