CV joint problems!

Default CV joint problems!

Alright.... im in the process of removing my cv joints so i can drop my transmission... the problem is that the cv joint is stuck in the hub and WILL NOT COME OUT!!!!!!!! anyone have this problem before? any help would be appreciated! BTW... its for the 4 spd tranny

You try a pry bar ? Just keep trying, I have seen some that really get stuck in there.

yeah... but i don't wanna mash down the shaft too much! and there isn't enough room to get a pry bar in there.....this sucks!

Go buy another pry bar then, thats the only way you are gonna get it out then. You won't mash it at all, if you pry it between the cv joint and the transmission.

Oh, take a punch and tap the end, buy some pb blaster and spray it on there. Usuually the punch will work though, hit it with a 5lb sledge, don't worry axles are strong enough

Also don't be affraid to pound on the knuckle, vibration will break the rust and the axle will come out easier, just don't pound on the rotor or anything else that will break.

Or you can use a puller on it. Thats what I did. Came out like a charm
