Default Lower ball joint trick.

I am replacing my drive axle and have everything off ready to go except the lower ball joint(nut is off but wont crack loose). I have tried the hammer trick as in the faqs. Now I have the tool the helms book recommends which is cranked as much as it will go so far that the tool has shifted next to the rotor... I am going to keep trying but any suggestions will help. Thanks.

I heart that trick. Beating on the side of the arm with a deadblow works too

Thanks Pdigity ****** worked like a charm. Hammer no, pitman arm no (from auto zone), helms tool no, and even tried the biggest damn pry with the helms tool cranked like a ****. This is the only way to do it. I couldnt do the 1/2 ratchet like recommended (92 car) but 3/8 ratchet worked great too. THANKS SO MUCH.
Some one may want to link that how to on the Axle faq..I see now it is on the faq separately by it self..I read the whole axle faq and didnt think to look for a seperate link.
