Differences in ECU's
Is there a way I can tell the difference between an auto and manual ecu just by reading the numbers on them?

the A022 is manual - the A131 is automatic
A0## or L0## = manual

On my PM6 and P28 ecus, there are only 2 # spots after the 'L' or 'A'. What I am saying is that there it looks like this: A##; instead of A0##.
On my recently departed PM6 ecu it said: PM6 - L09. There is no number after the 9. I also remember reading that the if the two numbers behind the 'L' or 'A', if it is under 50, its from a manual, if it is above 50, its from an automatic. Meaning L09 is manual and L53 is automatic.
Also, I believe that all L0## or L## (whichever) ecus are from california sold cars and A0## or A## are from the rest 49 states.

that is not correct - the number indicating whether it is automatic or manual is the first number after the letter - 0=manual 1=automatic, for most ECUs - however, as with everything Honda does, there are exceptions - for instance: 86-87 Integra ECUs don't have a letter after PG7 - they have 66 for manual and 67 for automatic - some ECUs have 2 numbers after the A0, L0, A1 or L1 and some have only one - ECUs from cars originally sold in Calif do have the letter 'L' while everywhere else it is 'A'

Well, wrong again. Atleast I learn something evertime I'm wrong.
And damn, I was right on only one part again with the 'L's.
