Something weird about my B18B?
Hey guys I bought a jdm 94 b18b and I noticed something weird. I'm using a 95 obd1 wire harness off of a d15b7. everything works out fine, except there is one extra plug that I have coming off of the wiring harness that seems to go nowhere.
If you look at this picture below of a 96-01 B18B1 intake manifold it has a sensor or something on top of the intake manifold. I don't have that... What sensor is it does anyone know? The only sensors I have is one on the back side of the throttle body, one on the back by the iacv, and then the one on the lower part of the intake manifold near the fuel rail. What am I missing?
Am I missing the Map sensor or something? I know on EF's the map sensors plug onto something on the firewall. The weird hting about this b18B is that it's a 94, but it has an intake mani that looks like a 93. I know however that it has not been modified or anything because i bought it from a legit shop and the motor is straight from an AT 94 teg

HOLY ****. Im such an idiot... I'm sorry I didn't mean VALVE COVER. I meant on top of the INTAKE MANIFOLD... Sorry guys...
So yeah, that sensor on top of the INTAKE MANIFOLD is the one that I do not have on my b18b

hrrm.. thanks.. So I guess there is no way around having no CEL when using a usdm ecu? I know there wouldn't be any loss in performance or anything but I just wanna have a CELless car so when something does actually happen, i'll know something is wrong, u know?
really? using uberdata? j/w. are you sure about that because I was told that you can only get away with the sensors that the p28's do not have such as knock sensor
hehe thanks. I know this thread is getting long, ur the only one up right now haha. But I have another question. So if I get that extra plug from the d15b7, and just remove it from the motor.. Where will I put it on the b18B?
Are you suggesting that I just take that plug off, hook it up to the wire harness and let it dangle? If that were the case, then wouldn't it still throw a cel?

your gonna need the whole sensor. if you look at your old motor and the b18. you should be able to find the sensor that the jdm one doesn't have. don't go by the odb2 picture up there

Oh , yeah I get what ur sayin I think... But are you saying that I need to take the sensor off of the d15 and then just plug it up to the harness? Wouldn't I need to drill somewhere and bolt it in order to make the sensor functional? Or will having the sensor just plugged up get rid of the problem of a potential cel?
Okay guys I have a pic. Here in this pic you can see on the right side of the intake manifold there is an extra plug that is hanging off of the wire harness. This is the extra plug, i duno if this helps.

on your old motor there should be a black plastic kinda round thing on the driver side of the intake manifold. it should have the connector that fits into that plug and two vacuum line that connect to it. one vacuum line goes into the intake manifold and one goes to the canister by the battery. take it off your old motor and transfer it to the new one
Cool man, Thanks for the help. Yeah I guess it is the purge solenoid, I just looked int he helms (should have done it before.....). I guess the JDM motors don't have them but i'll grab one off of the other motor just because... Having sensors hanging around makes me feel weird.
So are all of these the same for all hondas? So I can get one off a civic and it'll work fine on this motor?
