Default Anyone have big numbers on cheap intercoolers?

just curious to see if anyone actuall has 350+ hp on a johnny, obx, or ssac intercoooler. i read numerous posts about how gay they are or cheap they are but i have yet to see if anyone can back up the hp numbers they bost about.

i am runnning a gt30r on a 2.3L built h22 and kinda wanna try one of these. i plan on making 400 or so i guess.

also what would happen if the intercoolers had a bigger pressure drop? i mean how much does it really matter if a spearco has half the draop as acheap on? can i just boost a little more to compensate? i guess it will fighting itself trying to cool hotter air and is already being put to its limit...

am i on the right track on why they are inferior? tell me ehat you think. and i dont need proof ill believe you and i also dont need people telling me how they look, i want real opinions on how they work.

I have heard a lot of success stories. The ssauto's $200 dollar deal is used on many high hp cars on this site. The only problem with the cheap intercoolers that i have heard about are the endtanks. They are good for the money any you dont have to tell anyone who makes it. Whatever gives you a nice cool intake charge is alright in my book.

im not sure how true this is but JRC claims they have people making 500+HP on their 8" tall intercooler.

im running one and it seems to work really well.

350ish whp and I have the JRC 8" no problems. I would definitely support 400whp on my setup.

A nice new intercooler is treadstone (they could be rebaghed SSAC or something like that) but they have bar/plate for the same prices as the JRC's.
