Default Very very loud knocking noise

I have this huge knocking noise in my block because we checked to see where the sound was coming from but it was no from the head. So it is a really loud noise something like trrrrrrrr and it only happens like at 2k and up, like at idle nothing sounds. what could this be because a mechanic told me it coul be the pistons that could be knocking really bad and another one told me it was the main bearings. can somebody please help and what to do. Thanks.

could be rods, mains, or a broken piston skirt, is prolly going to require a teardown and rebuild maybe a new crank, hard to say till you get it apart.

Recently I took the rods and pistons out to put some h22 pistons in the h23 rods. rods were ok, and h22 pistons too. If it wold be the main bearings how would I know without opening the motor just yet. rod bearings are new, only thing not changed was the main bearings.

Rod bearings at 1000 miles? well mine have only 500 miles, and the sound is really really bad, but they told me that if it would have been the main bearings it would have a very bad vibration not a knocking noise, so I really don't have a clue now.

ok so torque specs, could it also be possible that the rod is damaged or something? (I didn't see anything wrong with them but maybe I should check them for the specs??)
