intake
hey, i was just wondering if i can put an intake in a car with dpfi, or do i need to convert it to mpfi? and if i put in an intake, which kind should i put in? would i be able to get a cold air intake in there behind the bumper?
yea you can reuse intakes
just get a el cheapo ebay and a K&N filter
yea you can get the ones to the bumper but probbly need to put your battery in back from what i've seen.

yea, i dont think ill deal with that. ill just probably get a standard intake. but i might need to get a better exhaust. if i have an intake, and a stock exhaust, would that be bad for my car? because more air would be going in, while not as much air goes out? im still trying to learn about cars, and i dont know if a better exhaust would be required for an intake
either get like a high brand ram air intake like k&n or something for like $100+ if u wanna avoid relocating the battery
but if u wanna spend $50 on some off brand intake from autozone u can do that, but then u need about $20 in wires and such to relocate the battery unless u got a small one so that the piping will clear it
stay away from cold air intake

what is the difficulty rating on putting in an intake out of 10? i dont think it can possibly be that difficult. just remove the box filter, and put in the intake. but i might be completely wrong. and with my make and model, would a CAI, short ram, or standard intake be better for my car?
ive always thought that APC parts were pieces of junk, but i see one for 80. it doesnt say whether or not it's short ram or standard. it look slike it would clear the battery though. http://www.partsamerica.com/Pr...set=A
You wont even notice a difference with a intake and a exhaust... Adding an intake is a worthless mod on a stock engine in my opinion. If you want the throaty sound, take out the resinator, and run just the airbox, or cut the airbox below the filter, and make a free intake.
Thats my 2 cents

well im trying to put worth while mods into my car, but i cant afford a better engine yet. im getting 200 tomorrow, and i know i need new tires. definitely better wheels too. i think im buying 14" steelie rims with tires for 100, so ill have the other 100 to spend
i bought an super cheap ~$80 cold air intake from ebay, and it had no major problems clearing my battery.. but it was a really tight fit. if i get a different battery, it might not work out. i also put a k&n filter on it, as the filter that came with the kit had some wire mesh on the top of the cone, but no filter media.. it was sick.
i dont think my car will ever be able to perform better than stock :-\ im still learning, but it'll be hard for me to get that kind of money. maybe ill save up and try to get a good condition 90 civic si hatch. but then i wont know what to do with my sedan
uh... there is a reason why people use a less resctrictive intake.. its for better ari flow.. the more air your engine gets.. w/o the least amount of effort the more power your going to make... to a certian point.. but to much air and you need to upgrade you fuel delivery..(to much being trubo or superchargers) you'll notice better throttle responce from a intake.
