re-use crank bearings??
I just pulled my GSR block apart and was going to sleeve it...yada yada. Then i realized i don't need 500whp on my DD and the stock sleeves are kosher. I have pulled the pistons and rods but haven't touched the crank assembly.
Would it be OK to put my new rods and pistons in without doing the crank bearings? Motor had 50k and was REAL clean upon breakdown.
I am nervous about pulling the crank doing crank bearings. Don't know why...just am!

If you are spending all that money and time on the motor, you might as well just replace them...

If it were me, id measure them just to be safe and prolly re-use them.
They are already broken in and 50k miles really isnt anything for these jap motors.
Just dont mix them up, or you may have a hard time getting them back in order...
check the clearances. If theyre good, keep them. Theyre fine...my .02

He is right. Do that. Just check the oil clearances, although you probably do not need do do it on such a low millage engine. If the oil changes were done regularly then don't check it.

If it's in that kind of condition, I'd probably take the crank out, and one by one take the bearings off and clean them and their "seats" to ensure the backs of them are clean and dry. Basically, clean it all and assembly lube them and put it back together.
Main bearings don't usually have problems like rod bearings IMO
