Default Trouble with camber kit today.

Well, i put a set of omnipower coilovers on my DA a few weeks ago.

Then when i got around to it i ordered a camber kit, and today i decided to put it on, seemed easy enough.

After getting the camber kit installed, and adjusting it to where i wanted it i take it for a test ride. Driving there is weird noises coming from the front tires, like if you were taking a turn really fast, but while just cruising. If i let go of the steering wheel going even 10mph the wheels will suddenly jerk and make a 90 degree turn left.

Im hoping and assuming its just really bad alignment, but i dont understand how putting the camber kit on would have thrown it off this bad, any other ideas/suggestions?

Jack up the front and push/pull around on the wheels and see if eveything is savvy. Also use a 90 degree object and compare it against the wheels when back on the ground and ATTEMPT to get them maybe barely negative.

BTW... did you get the sleeve coilovers(not full) with the 7" springs all around? If so do they bottom out in the front on bumps? I had them and the front springs SUCKED! I mean there were too many coils in the 7" spring so it binded so easily. I made an entire other thread about them, but maybe your car is lighter in the front?

Well it was getting to late, so i dropped it off at goodyear, and im going to go up there first thing in the morning and let them do an alignment on it and go from there, i hope that fixes it coz i was planning on going to the track tomorrow night.

Nah, i got full coilovers.

You might wanna check with omni tho, coz i know they recently made a lot of improvements on there products.

I did, they blew me off... Dunno if I was the only one. Live and learn I guess. There are posts in the ITR forum about their new Quiklutch thing takin dumps also.

Back to your camber kit.. Something is EXTREMELY outta alignment or there is something loose(my guess) and it is adjusting around causing the noises and the pulling.

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM HOLY ****! i brought it to my mchanic and got it a wheel alignment . i had to much toe . but toe is where ur tires stick out. wen i put my camber kit on it did the smae thing the wheels squeal because they are fighting one another if u stand on the hood(not literally) and look down, the wheels look like this "\ - /" instead of like this "| - |" the tires are fighting one another and they squeal its supposably realy bad and u lose alot of tread AN LIGNMENT WILL FIX IT. so go tommorow and get ur alignment done sorrry for the poor explanation but u get the point

RAH~!

ok so the shop that was supposed to do the alignment calls me today and tells me i have too much frame damage for them to make my car driveable, so he won't even attempt to align it and it needs to go to a frame shop..

I was aware of my screwed up crossmember (i hit a curb a long time ago) But it drove fine before i put the coilovers on, after i put the coilovers on, and now that iput a camber kit on, it can't be driveable??????

I think he might just not want to mess with my car, any ideas?

yeh he doesnt wanna attempt to touch ur car. most alignment shops wont even touch a lowered car it took me about 15 shops to find a shop that would actually do it. if u pay the right amount of money i dont see why they wont give it a shot keep lookin around

Well, my crossmember is pretty jacked up.

I just called a frame shop, and im getting it towed up there first thing monday morning and there gonna take care of it.. probably gonna cost me an arm and a leg, but better then having frame damage forever right?

Oh well, no track tonight.. i was hopen to see what i could run with the suspension work.
