Default Installed GC/Yellows, did I do it right? (DC) EDIT: Rears didn't go well. BUSHINGS!!

OK, got the ground controls today, decided to giver **** after supper, got the front done, went easier then I thought it would.

Now, I dunno if ground controls are suspose to come with instructions but I didnt have any, so I pretty much guessed what I was doing. And are they suspose to come with a allen key or wrech whatever?

(I'm gonna steal a pic from that koni install topic) SO, what I did for the front was, I had the small threaded sleeves and the longer ones, so I decided it made sense if the longer ones went up front, more weight, more adjustitbilaty. So am I right so far? So i did that, and slid it down the koni shaft, hugging the black part on the inside sitting onto the yellow circlip shown here.....

So, am I right so far?

then the white plastic washer, cut-in-half-bumpstop, washer ontop of that groove, then spring, then the GC rubber upper mount, then the stock rubber things inside with the top hat, with all the rubber bushing and stuff, etc....

Good to go?!??!?

So, a few thigns here to clear up, I have an extra washer left over from the Koni supplied stuff, (fronts) ?? Is it there in case I went with springs rather then coils?

That should be good for now.

Rears are for friday morning

EDIT: I just wanna holler at VtecVooDoo for all the help!! 3 days, your the man!

Rears went pretty horrible. The rear LCA bolt that goes through the shocks fork bushing was seized (both sides) Took a torch to the bolts cause we broke the head of the bolt off.

So we got them out, ended up screwing up one of the bushings, the bolt came out but along with that metal sleeve piece inside the bushing and the other side everything stayed intact, bolt slid out.

So here in the first pic, the driver side rear lca, the bushing stayed intact, but Im still going to replace it.

Picture 2, I also wasted this bolt and bushing,(RED) (acutally this pic is of the side that turned out good, the driver side i broke the bolt and used the torch.
The two bolts in PURPLE, I decided to take those out too, so I can put the entire upper control arm in a vice to take the bushing out, then I realized I coulda just taken those two bolts out, no problem, and wouldn't have to replace the bushing that I did mess up. Oh well

Pic 3, upper control arm removed

And Pic 4, the passenger side rear lca bushing. Like I said earlier, the metal piece that goes inside the bushing came OUT with the bolt when I hammered it out.

So, I gotta replace 1 rear upper control arm bushing and two rear shocks bushings? I dunno their exact name.

Also, I can't seem to lower my front end, its sitting higher then stock, and I loosened that bolt on the sleeve adjuster and even took it out and I still can't turn the adjuster to lower my ride height?? How come?

Sorry I wrote so much, but I need to get this done, and I'm really tires so if anythings unclear, please ask me to clear it up.

A pic would help but from what I can follow it sounds like you are good. That extra 12mm ID flat washer is used when you reuse your dust cover. Since you have the GC sleeves, I am betting you are leaving out teh dust cover so it is fine to have it as a spare. You may notice that there is a small outside diameter difference between teh two washer sizes, normally the smaller one goes up into the dust cover and teh larger one sits on top and the two make a sandwich to keep the dustcover sitting square.

The only key is to make sure that the groove in the bottom of your GC sleeve (or adapter if you are using one) fully swallows and captures the circlip ring in the groove on the Koni. If the side of the circlip is still exposed then it is installed wrong.

Yah I really don't want to take the lca off though. Cause on the other end of the LCA, is another bushing.
