how do u take off the stock si shift ****?

how do u take off the stock si shift **** from a 99-00? is there a bolt or hex key or something.

so the shift boot turns with the shift ****. i just hold the shift boot and keep turning the ****? u shure it wont rip the boot

nooo right underneath the shift **** where the leather is you press it down and the clips should come off, then twist the shift **** off....

Theres a clip. Hold the chrome neck piece and pull it down.
