gas!!
i just checked the honda website, says the civic lx automatic is suppose to get city29 /highway38. I think i get 15 on the city and 20 on highway.....even w/ my shortram. What can be the problem? Im thinking its the gas I use (87) but I'm not really use.....help would be nice, 00civic lx/2dr.
1. How the hell are you getting 15-20 MPG? I have a ******* turbo and I get 28-30.
2. Octane doesnt affect fuel mileage
3. There wasnt a 2000 civic LX 2dr

Even with my **** idle I used to have the lowest I ever got was 26.
Even with the AC on all the time now the lowest I get is 28 even when I smash it all the time. That sucks for you :-\

If you don't do normal tuneups give some of these a try; change your fuel, air and oil filters, spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor, transmission fluid and filter(if you have an automatic), then check your engine's rpm's and set your timing. You should be doing better by then.

I filled up today and got 27mpg...granted this has been with a couple trips to vtec and also running the a/c with mostly stop and go city driving.
Get a tune up and quit mashing the gas.
