how do you hook up a msd external coil w/ modified dist. cap on a zc?

 

take out your old coil from dist. new external coil comes with a wire (looks like a plug wire, kinda) connect coil to the terminal on cap (usually red)

 

im kinda confused-- on the new external coil there is a spot for two wires a pos, and a neg. what do i connect these to on my dist?

 

take the positive from your factory coil to the positive of the msd coil, and th same with the negative

 

how do you tell which one is which? thank you for the replies!!

 

wht/blu = negative
blk/yel = positive
anyone want to double check that for me? that is from memory.

 

I belive that is right.. the positve wire has 2 leads going to it.. its black/yellow.. and the other is negitive.. I think it even says on the coil itself.

Just extend those wires out to the external coil, install the new cap and your good to go.

the coil has + and - signs on it where the wires go...just use the labeled one in the right place, but the other two guys were right on the colors
