CRX Help (A lot of help actually)
Hey all. I'm going to be buying a CRX sometime soon and it's obvoiusly used. It's going to be a project car and I was wondering as to what type of parts I should get for the car and possibly around how much they go for.
The type of car I'm going for is economy but also performance. I want to keep the mpg up in the 30's if I can. Thanks for those who reply! It'll help a lot.

if ur dual point the first thing i would suggest upgrading to would be mpfi (multi port fuel injection)..
i personally would swap in a b series motor...for all the money that u will end up spending on building a single cam u can have a stock dual cam making the same power if not more for the same price if not cheaper...
dual cam is the way to go for power, and the gas economy is pretty good just as long as ur not too heavy on the throttle...
sohc vtec is also a good choice...decent power in an ef chessis and better gas mileage than a b series motor...
id start with a basic intake but there is so much out there that u r only limited by what ur goal is for the build..this goes for parts and motor options... let us know what kind of numbers u wanna make and it will be a lot easier to determine what parts you need to get u there..

I'm shootin for maybe just around 120 hp so nothing big just yet. I'm also on a budget so I'll be watching how much these pieces are as I look through everything.
This is my first car so I'm not entirely sure as to what kind of parts I should be getting. I'm learning everything I can about the CRX...

Get an Si and put on some bolt ons and you will be there. If you get a lower model, swapping in a d16z6, d16y8, jdm d15b or zc will all give you approx 120hp.

Welcome
Read here alot. Search if you have questions. I started reading here about 3 months ago, and now I'm doing a DOHC ZC swap.
I really like the ZC, bolts right in and gives you 130hp\111 tq right off the bat. Total cost is going to be in the 1-1.5k range for the swap, but you'll have a motor that'll run for another 100k miles, plus new clutch, seals, hoses, etc. Its broken down here ( http://thenew.gamesbbs.com/~dmoore/zc.htm )
Anyway, read up and you'll know alot before you realize it. The info is out there, you just gotta find it.

if u want in about a month i will have a full b16 swap for crx/ef hatch available for pretty cheap...however this is not the classifieds so pm me if ur interested...
but yeah for the power that u want to make a sohc vtec will be the way to go...a stock b16 yields roughly 140 whp

i think the sohc zc is the best sohc motor from the factory.. has an aggresive cam with the benefits of the high flowing a6 head and tough a6 block.. and sohc vtec is like is like women with hairy legs

I can't PM you... seems I'm still in the 'trial' so I can't use anything... Is there another way to contact you?
Thanks everyone else for the replys. This really does help out. Especially Voodooboy520: That site does help out. I'm reading everything I can!

Yep, got some for the B16 too. I was considering it.

As you can see, the B16 swap is considerably harder, but yealds better numbers. Your choice. If you want more info you can always hit me up on AIM, same name.
