Default No Vtec?

Ok I posted a question earlier, I have a b20b Gsr head setup. Anyhow I tapped the turbo oil line off of the oil line from the block to the head. Everything is working fine except there is no Vtec. I'm thinking since Vtec is activated by oil pressure, maybe I'm losing Vtec because there is not enough oil pressure. Being that I broke off of the main oil line from the head. What do you guys think? Thanks.

does sound like that theres not enough pressure to activate the vtec, is your engine check light on?? if not then the vtec solenoid is obviously activting correctly, so more than likely its the pressure.

check the lines going into/out of the solenoid. If you can't find anything wrong from the outside, you most likely are loosing oil pressure from the turbo line. Also, what ecu are you using on the b20/vtec?...you could have a crapped out ecu...just another guess.

No there is no CEL. I was thinking that too. But no light. I'm using my p28 ecu chipped with Skunk2 program. I was originaly n/a. If it is the oil pressure being insufficient, where else could I tap to get oil for the turbo? Or is it possible to get another oil pump that would be capable of supplying enough pressure? I don't know. But I really miss my Vtec man! Thanks again for your help.

Check your ecu wirings, make sure they are not loose.

IS the Skunk2 chipped witht the knock sensor removed? If not then it might be because you dont have it installed...

Ecu wiring is ok. I had Vtec working before I turbo. Yeah the Skunk2 is chipped without knock sensor. I believe if the knock sensor is not installed, it will throw the CEL. Thanks again for everyones input.

for a while i thought i'd lost my Vtec, cause i coulnt hear it anymore but it was strange cause it still pulled hard till redline, it happened right after i switched from a short ram to a cold air. could maybe your new setup have changed the regular engine noise youre used to? or are you feeling the lack of power top end? cause if your vtec doesnt switch over you have nooooo power up top. if you think this is a stupid comment then just ignore me

Hahaha! Stupid comment?? No man, never a stupid comment when your trying to help. All comments appreciated. But along with the noise not coming in, the top end is dead. Loss of power. So definately know that the Vtec is not engaging. Thanks.
