Default headrest speaker question

Does anyone know if I will need any additional wiring, etc... to hook up headrest speakers that are meant for an 05? Thanks.

04+ are prewired. If you get the OEM kit it should come with everything that you need.

If you get the S-Pods, like I am going you will need a little wire to go to the harness under the dash from the speakers.

I am looking to buy a set of used oem headrest speakers that are currently on ebay. It only seems to include the speakers.

I had wondered because another ebay listing mentioned that there is a special connecting harness required to hook them up to a 2000 model.

cause the older models were not prewired, as long as you have an 04+ you will be fine

Nishant, are you talking about an 04+ car or 04+ set of speakers. Sorry that I am confused.

My S is a 2000 model so I guess I'm out of luck. Today I had the parts guys at my work pull the instructions and it says the speakers only work for 04+. I guess my lext option is to look for an aftermarket conversion kit. Thanks for the info.

Does anyone know if the rear speaker harness from lucid will be the answer to my original question?

Actually, I think I answered my own question.

It appears that the plug into the head unit is pre-wired, not the car. You still have to run wires back to the speakers.

I found the pigtail...

it's taped up underneath the dash by blue tape to another wireharness. It's a gray, 4 wire plug. And they don't give you much slack to work with either!

it's under the driver's side of the dash. If you are able to lay down under there on your back and look up into the dash, you'll see if on your left. It's pretty much straight up from the triangular panel you remove on the side of the center console.
