Default Enthusia Racing for PS2

seeing as how i'm not really doing much of any racing this year, i've been keeping myself occupied with GT4 (as i'm sure many of us do). in one of my random walks through the video game store i found Enthusia Racing for $25 or so. i remembered there being some hype on here about how good the game was supposed to be, but i never heard anything about it once the game was actually released.

anyone have it? played it? have opinions about it?

I just looked up a review of it at ps2.ign.com

Rated 7.2/10

http://ps2.ign.com/articles/608/608371p1.html

Graphics look good, but I guess in all it's pretty mediocre.

If you want a game that's not necessarily very simulation-like but delivers killer sense of speed and crashes, Burnout 3 is supposed to be awesome (I have Burnout 2). Otherwise I'd stick with GT4.

friend of mine said it was awful, but he's the guy who is looking for a perfectly real simulation.

i would want something that was at least as much of a sim as GT4.

i guess i'll save my $20 for one round at the go-kart track.

I hated it for the pure and simple fact that I had to use the analog sticks, I hate those in driving games! I gotta use the D pad

After hearing a few good things about the game here, I went out and rented it. I'm glad I only wasted a few bucks as the game play was horrible. The game was hard to navigate and not really much fun at all. I had it for a week and maybe played it for an hour.

i keep reading Enthusia as "Euthanasia"

and apparently, that's not all that inappropriate a misread...

I don't even really like Forza. It's better than Sega GT or the other Xbox driving sims, but damned if they couldn't make a 7.0L ALMS C5R engine sound like a race engine, and not a damn prius.

I heard Enthusia is good if you have the Driving Force Pro steering wheel. If you're gonna be using the Dual Shock, don't bother with it. I have a Driving Force Pro, but I don't have the time/money to set it up all the time to even play GT4...

Personally, I'm about 68% done with GT4. The remaining races turned me off with their insane amount of laps... I just tune cars now. I've been tinkering with my Honda Beat lately...

Maybe if you've never played GT4 .

For a sim try the GTR demo for your PC:

When you buy the game, download the Escort mod!

I haven't played Enthusia, but I remember reading the FiringSquad review. The reviewer said after playing Enthusia for a week, he noticed noticed he drove better in GT4.

I'll pick it up when it's sub $30...

Get an Xbox, and get Forza.

The AI is much better than the drones in GT4, and of course, online play is awesome. I haven't touched it in awhile but is was still worth the $45.

Best AI is still Race Driver 2, which is made by Codemasters. You really feel the stress racing in that game and you're never the "overdog" since you can only race agaisnt cars of the same class. Also, Formula Ford in the rain is a blast.

I'd rent it before I buy it. I know some people love Enthusia, i'm just not one of them.

Now for some GTR screen shots:

I'd say Enthusia = GT4, they are both too arcadish for me which puts them below Toca Race Driver 2, which is the best car racing 'sim' you can get for Playstation 2 until Toca Race Driver 3 comes out...

And GTR is awesome...I enjoy my "HPDE" lapping around Donnington or Spa in the Murciealago GTR.... nice stable high speed vehicle Saleen S7 is great when you have the surround sound volume up (especially with nice bass setup) and hit the ignition/start switch.... Need to get the simulation rig I want put together so GTR can be enjoyed properly! Already have a seat, just need to get busy and get the computer system together one of these days along with custom pedals and steering wheel and "dashboard".... I just don't have time for it with 2 real autocross vehicles, a real job, and everything else thrown in... lol

And I can't wait until GT legends comes out...Historic GT cars! http://www.gt-legends.com/home_en.php
