i just bought a 2000 Civic Si and one of my friends told me that 2000 is the best year for Si's. is he full of crap, or is there actually a difference? they all seem the same to me...

they came in 99-00.. and its the best si in my opinion vs. the ef's, the eg's and the ep's... but if he's saying that the 00 si is better than the 99.. i think there's no difference...

I think the 99-00 Sis are the sweetest as well. Then comes the EG Sis which I own.

 

erm yeah, oops, i meant 99/00....the 01 is the EP3.

but yeah, there are no differences? i swear i've seen tiny details, for example the DOHC VTEC decal on 2 lines instead of 1...

yeah, besides the simple facts of better (type R style) grilles, different front lips/side skirts, and rims, the Si also has a B series engine that's DOHC/VTEC whereas the EX has a SOHC D series engine with a lower compression ratio and about 30 less hp. and the Si has a cooler HUD.

I believe the Si's came with bigger rotors than the EX's. I had a 96 EX then bought a 00 Si and I noticed the rotors were bigger. The 99/00 models are the sweetest looking body style for Civic IMO.

my 2000 EX has same front rotors/calipers as an EM1

I think one of the model year EM1 had rear child anchor bolts while the other ones didn't ... I think

 

Ok the question is "Is there a difference between a 1999 Si and 2000 Si". Not brakes, not Si vs. Ex, not eg si vs ef si vs em1, ok!

I don't think there is a difference and if there was it was probably something really really really minor.

 

I don't think any Si were made in 2001.

thanks, at least someone gets it im trying to dig up pics, but i think there is something different about the DOHC VTEC decal **** on the side...i swear to **** i've seen one on TWO lines, but hey i guess i could be full of it (that's a disclaimer)

ya, i made the mistake in my topic....btw they had the Type R EP in Japan for 2001. we just didnt get it over here till 2002
