Default Check engine light

iwas out joy riding, going a pretty quick. . . and as I came into second gear, i got more than the little tire chirp, my tires actually began to spin, for a moment then I caught traction and right after that my check engine light came on, i pulled over to a gas station and checked under the hood everything appeared to be fine when i hopped back into the car and started it back up the light was off, i drove for another 10 minutes(much slower). It came on again, when I got home I turned the car off then back on an dthe light was off again, any ideas on what could be causing this?

you don't need to wait for CEL to come on - the ECU stores the code and will be blinking until you reset it

Didn't check the code on the ECU I used to wires (not sure what they are called) I was told if i connect those togethor that the it would show the code on the odometer by flashing the check engine light. I did that And got 2 slow blinks then 2 fast ones. i checked my ECU and don't see any lights at all. Iam running OBD-1 and my ECU is a p30.

i'll double check that, th elast question I have is about the 2 wires that I have that are supposed to tel lme codes. i was tol dby th eperson who sold me the car that if i hold these two wires togethor (blue & orange comnig from hrness going into ECU) that it will tell me codes. I did that and it gave me the 2 slow and the 2 fast, does that sound right and does it work the same way that people's little red light on their ECU? Because I don't appear to have that light.

make sure u got a good ground to it and that the wire (blue i think) is a good conection back to the ecu.

Okay it looks like it was the VTECpressure switch. there are 2 wires coming from it a red one ( I think) and a black one, I'm assuming that the black one is a ground and i was wondering did it matter where i grounded it? or if I'm wrong where does that wire go?

it should be grounded in the harness. if your unsure u can allways run a seprate ground to the Tstat housing.

If you managed to heat up your engine to 205 degrees on a hot day, your oil probably thinned out and it sensed a drop in oil pressure. This is common in the summer. Use a thicker oil durring the hot months.

You still will want to watch the oil pressure, hence forth OIL PRESSURE SWITCH, you don't want to be spinning bearings from oil starvation like me

Yeah, code 22 is Oil pressure switch, I had that code come on last week with the CEL. It turned out to be that the other end of that switch wire wasn't grounded at all So I grounded the wire, and reset the ECU and the were no codes and a CEL.
