Default no brake pedal, help!?!

I have no brake pedal at all. the mc and booster are new (remanufactured, actually). the brakes were bled thoroughly (new fluid was bled through the whole system) and the pedal adjustment has been played with extensively. my dad watched the brake hoses while i pushed the pedal and he said that they flexed but didn't balloon, so i'm assuming they are alright. any ideas what is wrong???

yes, we bench bled the mc and just got done rebleeding the lines.

with the car off(no power brakes) it feels like you have some pedal resistance the whole way down. its not as firm or resistant as normal, but its still a decent amount. when the car is turned on, there is no resistance untill the very bottom. it does brake, and can lock up the tires, but when the pedal very far down.

last week i readjusted the pedal so it was firm. it stayed firm for a little while, but then it got spongy and soft the whole way down and only braked at the very bottom. every once it a while it would get still for a mile or two, but never longer.

could be something wrong with your 'new' MC. Wouldn't be the first time I have seen defects on them.

Did it take long to bench bleed all the air bubbles out?

Perhaps a leak in the booster vacuum line.

Or (you may have already done this from the sounds of it) adjust the length of the booster rod where it connects to the pedal assy.

PPV I think that's the proportioning valve.....unless it's leaking can't imagine that being the problem.

no, its not a vacuum leak.

i spent like 1-2 hours adjusting the booster rod length last night, so i'm pretty sure its not that.

Probably got a junk M/C. Get a OEM unit and try again.

no, i don't think its junk. its the second rebuilt one in the last 3 months, and they both did the same thing.

we put new brake pads on it and turned the rear drums and my dad said it helped (didn't drive it yet, i was away). hopefully some adjusting will help bring the pedal back to where its supposed to be.
