Most guys with stock h22 swaps are running high 13's on street tires (myself included) I have never seen a stock b18a,b,c run a 13's pass... possibly a c5, but definitely none of the others...

do your homework
h22 type S vs b18 R
h22 vs b18c
in both cases, the h22 would walk away the b18 with ease.
if you were to compared them, take the best vs best, don't just compare regular h22 to b18r, it's not relevant.

It definately takes a bit of cash to do all this. It's not a simple swap nor cheap. But the rewards are pretty good. Having an H22 in your car has the unique feel to it. The power is definately there and the torque is just fantastic. If you can get all that to the ground, you can run low 13's to high 12's at the track all day. That's stock. Build it up and it gets more fun. I'll post some pics of my car as well as dyno sheets when I'm completely done in the next few days.
The biggest issue with this swap is wiring and axles IMO. The wiring is just easier now with all these conversion harnesses and what not. Axles... You will break them... For me, it's always the passenger side axle that breaks. Other than that, a stock motor is reliable as a daily as I have a friend of mine that drives his H22 Civic everyday to work. Gas mileage isn't as good of course.

I've owned both, so here's my side. '92 Hatch with '95 B18C1 = 14.7@97 1/4 mile time. '92 Hatch with '95 H22 = 13.8@101 1/4 mile time. Both on street tires, only mod was exhaust.
Pros for the H22: Tons of torque, great midrange power, doesn't need lots of revs to get moving.
Cons for the H22: I've gone through three passenger side axels in two years, expensive to swap, vibration with HASport mounts, fitment issues.
Pros for the B18: Easy swap very straight forward, tons of available parts, a cheaper swap by comparison to the H22.
Cons for the B18: Need to keep the revs up to get moving, the swaps can be overpriced if you don't shop around.
Here's my verdict. If this is your first swap, start with the B18. They are a direct bolt in with the only real modifications coming to the wiring. My B18 Hatch was my first swapped car. I loved it, drove the crap out of it, and still averaged about 40 miles per gallon. My H22 Hatch was my second swapped car. This was the second H swap I had done so I was familiar with what all it needed. Don't be fooled by price for price on the motors. The H is cheaper, but odds are you'll need unforseen items like axles, shift linkage, a shifter box, injector resistor, mounts, a center shaft, and so on. I'd say I had about $3000 into my B swap and until everything was said and done about $4500 into the H (JDM motors need some other mods ie. fuel line and complete change of the wiring harness.) With the money you'll save by doing the B swap you'll be able to sink that money back into the motor for future improvements. It's completely up to you, but that's my two pennies.

The best thing to do for axles is to just get reman ones from AutoZone or Advanced Auto. They have a lifetime warranty and you can take them back at anytime. If you're like most of us, find some trashed axles and stock pile. For 60 bucks, you really can't beat the deal, plus lifetime warranty.
I guess that I am very luckey with my axles. I've never had any problems with my passenger-side. I had serious binding problems with my driverside though. Binding and it broke. Replaced with one dss axle and never had any binding of breakage for almost 2 years now.
Gas mileage is also great. That motor was meant for a prelude so dropping it into an eh2 will give it great mileage.

. It takes a lot more gas when you drive it hard all the time, but still not too bad.

not quite, if a k20 type s vs h22 type s, the h22 would walk away the k20.

hey i did the swap about 9 months ago its fairly easy once you got everything organized without missing any parts. took me and two other people about 3 hours to complete the swap. dont go b18! my stock JDM h22a in my civic coupe full interior with system NOT a hatchback smoked a semi-built b18 c5 in a fully gutted hatchback by 3 cars! No lie!
I've had my H swap for about three years and only broke an axle once, driver side broke. The problem is that most people use the 90+ integra axle when in reality you need 88-89 axles. The 90's are too long by about 1 1/2 inches. Ever since I used the 89's I get no binding and no vibrations.
I'm running Gator Racing Stage 2 axles, haven't had many problems really.
I don't mind the HASport mounts at all. My car vibrates, but my suspension is stiff anyways. I don't really care anyhow, I love how it handles.
Umm, I get about 30mpg with my H22... crusini' at 87mph is about 4000rpm in 5th gear sfor me. So you get pretty good gas mileage. I usually shift around 2100-2500 around town.
