ok i am doing a auto to manual conversion on my girls 99 ex
i got some write ups for it but i still have some ????.

it says for autos that the iacv is differnt then the manual one and to do this swap you have to get a intake manifold off a 5speed civic and also a iacv and the plug off a 5speed civic.


so my question is
is there any way around getting a plug for the 5speed iacv cant i just convert the auto plug to work with the 5speed iacv

 

They are mounted differently in different locations. The units themselves also work differently. The 3wire iacv which you have is located on the underside of the throttle body. The 2wire iacv you need is located on the backside of the intake manifold.

I gotta link to rewiring it... holdup lemme look. Oh and no the 3-wire IACV plug will NOT work... All you'll need is the 2-wire IACV plug.

SO BACK TO THE QUESTION IS THERE A WAY TO CONVERT THE 3 PIN PLUG ON THE AUTO'S TO A 2 PIN PLUG NEEDED FOR THE MANUAL'S??? PLEASE ANYONE. AND AGAIN I DONT HAVE A 5SPEED PLUG.

Dude... all you have to do is go to a junkyard... snip one off with about 10 inches of wire and walk out. Even if you want to pay for it I doubt it'll be more then 10$ . I'm a broke *** 16 year old and even I can afford that.

its for a 99civic ex coupe

i think it says i just need the trans mount but isnt there two trans mounts?

You won't need different mounts I'm told, everything will bolt right up. I have a 00 EX and I'll be doing the same swap soon.

 

i heard the brackets and mounts are all the same

except the trans mount is differnt

 

I'm pretty sure the trans mounts are different. So all you'll need are those. I think any out of a 96-00 will work.

If I remember correctly from doing a H22 5-speed swap into an auto EX, it was just like doing a swap in an Integra.

The only mount that's different is the upper transmission mount. Back when I did them, they didn't have any aftermarket mounts available. Now I believe HASport has them. You can either purchase those, fabricate your own, or reweld the mount bracket on the chassis slightly forward to where the 5-speed bracket would be on a 5-speed car.

Note the brackets are the same, it's just slightly more forward in the chassis of a 5-speed car.
