I have a 2003 Honda Accord Coupe EX (4 cylinder Automatic) and recently I have been having some problems with my transmission. Yesterday whenever I would put my car in park (while the car was still running ) I couldn't get it back out. To eventually get the stick to unlock, I would have to pump my breaks for a while then eventually I guess something would click and I would be able to press the button in on the gear shift and go into drive. It only happened yesterday but is this worth taking into the shop for and also what do you all think the problem could be. Also late lastnight I couldn't move the car out of my driveway for 15 minutes as I tried to pump the breaks over and over to get my gearshift to unlock. I also had to repeadtly turn on and off my car so yeah. There is what happened. Any ideas?

 

next time it happens,have someone see if your brake lights work,if not,replace stop lite switch

2003 ,,,how many miles ?? if under 36k u are under warranty and even if over i would take to dealer and request that they fix it for free ,,,,it sounds like a brake switch but it should not fail this early .at dealer ask to talk to manager and express your disatisfaction with honda and ask to talk to regional honda rep that will get the ball rolling

 

well it is an 03 with close to 84k miles :-\
