Axle removal question

Axle removal question
Ok so i have a chiltons and a electric helms. But my real question is I hear people talking about taking everything off except the ball joint. can anyone please explain this cause im replacing my axles tomorrow and would like to know any easier way TIA

Just did it last week.
Don't bother with removing the LCA/ball joint section. Instead remove the mid section and the other end bolts along with two radius rod and stablizer.
