Default Building my turbo set up, a few questions!!

1. Can I use an arch welder for my exaust set up? Im gonna weld 2.5 SS piping. Someone told me the arch welds would crack because of exhaust temps.
2. How effecient are Whitey bends?
3. How well would hightemp silicone work as gaskets for my T25 D16a6 crx si set up?
4. apparently I have a different T25 exhaust housing on my T25 turbo, so the wastegate arm dosent meet where its supposed to attach. I might just tap new holes but ive never done this so I dont know... Also I thought about bending the wastegate arm. could I test it by using a compresser to blow air in the wastegate and watch it push out?
5. any tips about buildng a CHEAP T25 downpipe?
6. To run 450 DSMs on a CRX si, having the resistor box for the normal honda do I need the one from the DSM?

Thats all for now,
~Adam

If your are talking silcoset type stuff it will only be good for up to 300 degrees C.

I'll try to answer as many as I can.
1) I'm not a real knowledgable fab guy, but I believe that most people use a tig because of better penetration. One welder I worked with explained that for some things stick is actually better because it doesn't heat the metal up as much and reduces the tendancy for warping. I don't know if that would apply in this app (because at the time he was welding up a custom ss bumper for my friend), but he is a very good welder. Though I have seen people stick ss exhaust piping (and it turned out well btw), I don't know if it is the norm. Ask this and other fab stuff in the fab forum. Those guys know a lot of ****.
2) Don't know.
3) Don't use high temp silicon, use nothing or ss gaskets. Lots of places have those gaskets. http://WWW.turbocharged.com has them as well, though they deal more as distributors of turbos and parts.
4) It's kinda hard to visualize what you are talking about without some picts. Also, ask this in the fab forum if it involves anything more than just tapping some new holes and give them some picts. A picture is worth...........
5) Just like regular piping, take your time and measure.
6) Your honda resisitor box will be fine. There are quite a few threads in here that address this topic. You can also find some info on http://www.hondata.com
GL.

if you do arc weld it you would need a rod specifically for stainless steel. it would be hard to weld without blowing holes as well and on the inside of the pipe it will be rougher. i would go with tig because it looks better and would be smoother on the inside. thats just my opinion though.
