Default GM 3bar vs. Autometer boost gauge...

when my gm 3bar reads 18psi on my aem logs, my autometer gauge is reading about 22 psi. When i used to run straight off my tial 9psi spring the autometer gauge was right on. JDogg told me that the GM map sensors are scaled a little different and will read lower, but the AEM 3bar will read right on...

anyone else have any experience with comparing readings? Im just tired of explaining it to people when they ask how much boost I am running...

another reason autometer gauges suck......they are pretty inaccurate......close but not quite....

It's very normal to have differences. how do you know the GM3bar is reading 22 PSI.....just because you datalog in that column doesn't mean it's at 22PSI. Remember it averages the values from the column before it in the map. Get the raw values by using a datalogger for the actual voltage. ECUcontrol works well. What I do is floor it a 2k rpm and read the data. The boost gauge should read 0-1PSI and my map sensor read 3" vaccum. That's pretty close and works for me.

yep, mines the same way. vdo gauge reads about 2psi higher than 3bar

GM 3bar MAP are indeed a bit off most of the time.

I used to have the GM 3bar MAP... always read 2-3 psi lower, plus their resolution sucks *****.

I have the AEM 3.5bar MAP sensor and it is dead on with my boost gauge (Defi mechanical).
