how high can i safely rev on stock a6 springs and retainers? i wanna run a 272 regrind and i have heard it is safe to run on an a6 with stock spring if you dont change your rev limiter.

 

i have seen dyno charts on a stock a6 without a rev limiter on someone's car who didnt care if it blowed up.. and the a6 made power into the 7900-8200 range before the curve started to drop. the main reason i mention this is that if the engine can make power to that range, you dont have to really worry about floating valves until the engine stops making power. but... with that said, i wouldnt recommend revving it past stock rev limit, especially if the engine has some miles on it. so it sounds like you wont have much of a problem at all. good luck
