quick h22 timming question....
ok, i just replaced my dizzy... and i need to adjust the timming... i have a obd1 jdm h22a in a 92 accord.... i was told that i have to adjust the timing through the little hole on the block or on the crank pulley... (i hope not the crank pulley because i have an aftermarket type light weight pulley on it... ) and i have afidanza flywheel as well... thanks guys...
you need a timing gun.
afaik, you'll need to pull the plug on the timing light hole and adjust the distributor until the timing marks line up correctly as you fire the timing gun into the window.
hth.

if u replaced the dizzy u can adjust it w/ the dizzy... it usually makes it easier if u mark the positioning of the dizzy before u take the orig one off..
that hole in the block is to check timing, not to adjust it specifically

i haven't personally used a timing light but after googling around a bit, i found you need to connect one end of the light to the battery positive (+) another to a chassis ground (-) and attach the clamp to the spark wire. might want to do some more research and confirm it though.
what i was saying before about looking at your timing:
you see that rubber plug where your bell housing of the transmission meets the block? pull that out and youll be able to see your flywheel spinning. you aim the timing light in there and the timing marks will either line up or be off by a positive or negative degree (this dictates how to adjust your dizz)
hope that clears some stuff up.

-Buy a timing gun.
-Crank your car and warm it up.
-Pull the plug between the tranny and the motor on the front.
-Attach red clamp from timing gun to + battery post, the black clamp from timing gun to the - battery post, and the clamp goes around the #1 spark plug wire....the wire coming from the spark plug nearest the driver's side of the engine.
-Shine the light down into the hole and hit the trigger. Look at the little fork thing and where the 15 mark is.
-Rotate the dizzy till the 15 mark gets between the fork thing.
-You're done!

Keep this in mind, these engines have automatic electronic advance on then, so to say if you go out side and bring your timming from 15 to 16 the ecu will automatically bring it back to 15. To stop it from going that you must go in side the car underneath the center dash piece in the back there is this little plug thing that has a blue head on it with blue and brown wires going into it. You have to stick a jumper in there (or just a bent papper clip) with prevents it from automatically setting it self back, but if it was allready running fine before you changed the dis. you most likely wont have to do that.
