Default no timing marks?

i just went out to check my timing and i couldn't see any timing marks. it's dark out too. the weird thing is that a few weeks ago when i put in a new distributor the timing marks were visible. any ideas?

r u try n to check the timing with a timing light? the lines should show up on the crank pully. maybe the pulley is dirty and its covering up the lines. turn the motor to TDC and take a cloth and clean the crank pulley, then put the timing light on it.

u r using a stock crank pulley right?

dizzy from passenger side:

34
12

TDC is when u rotate the crank so that piston number 1 is at the top of the cylinder. when its at the top of the cylinder, the single white line on the pulley will line up with the pointer on the timing belt cover

you need to specify which part is running retarded. Is the cam/crank timing off, or is the dizzy timing off?

i'm not sure...i was turning the dizzy to fix the timing on the pulley. it might of been the crank tho cause it was throwing a crank sensor error a few days ago...maybe this fixed it cause it's not throwing a code anymore
