ek auto to 5sp converion question
what does it take and is it simple? concidering buying a ek hatch auto. figure if i do a b18 swap then i have to get new ecu and shift linkage anyways.. let me know , thanks
Simple is a relative term. There are many things you have to change/buy/swap out/rewire. Search the Integra forum for the auto to manual conversion and you will find several threads about it. It's basically the same thing in an Integra.
Note that it's a LOT more than an ECU and a shift linkage. The ECU is actually optional. Just off the top of my head, you'll need: transmission, starter, axles, intermediary shaft, upper transmission mount bracket, upper transmission mount, clutch disc/flywheel/pressure plate, clutch pedal assembly, master cylinder, slave cylinder, misc hoses/bolts/wires, linkages, shift lever, etc etc etc......
It comes down to, "Is it worth the money/time to you?" If you have the hookup on parts and labor (i.e., you can do it yourself/with friends), then go ahead and do it, you will be very happy with your results. However, if you don't know how to do it, and will have someone else do it for you and charge you, don't do it. It won't be worth the money you spend on it.
Take a look at the threads in the Integra forum and do some research on your own finding parts, etc. If you have any specific questions, shoot me a PM, I did several swaps on Integras.

thanks man, been a big help... i found a ek hatch auto for a good deal and figured hell i know i am gonn have to get most of the parts with the swap anyhow.. and yeah i have a hook up parts out here... just in anyones opinion , what do people think of a ek auto b18 hatch lol.. think it would be worth it? just an idea that was in my head...
No problem, I went through the same dilemma with my Integra. If you have the hookup on parts and you can do the labor yourself (or get it done really cheap), definitely go and do it. You will be VERY happy with your results. Your car will be a lot more fun to drive, more controllable, safer (if you know what you're doing), and most importantly, faster.
